If you are here, there is a good chance you are feeling worried, exhausted, overwhelmed, or unsure what to do next.
You may have tried different schools, strategies, professionals, or interventions – yet your child is still struggling to attend or cope within mainstream education. You may be carrying fear for their future, guilt, grief and a constant sense of being “on edge”.
If this sounds familiar, please know: You are not alone and neither is your child.

Your child’s emotional safety is our highest priority.
We create calm, predictable, low-demand environments where children are never rushed, pressured, or forced. Relationships come first. Regulation comes before learning. Trust is built slowly, respectfully and consistently.

Raw Learning is designed to complement, not replace, mainstream education, offering a gentle, flexible pathway back towards confidence and learning.

Raw Learning was created from Rachel’s deep belief that children deserve educational environments that truly understand and support their emotional, sensory, and developmental needs.
By building trust, connection, and personalised support through nature and practical learning, Rachel has seen children move from anxiety and disengagement to confidence, calm and a love of learning.

Over my years of teaching, I became very aware that there were many children who struggled within the confines and structure of the classroom – it just didn’t suit their way of learning. I love the freedom working at Raw Learning gives to put the needs of each individual first and teach in the way that suits them, following their lead in what excites them and what they want to find out about and explore.
I would love for education to go back into the hands of teachers who would use their expertise and knowledge to teach children according to their needs and not to the latest test that the government deems necessary to prove that schools are doing a good job. I would love children to be able to have the freedom to learn in the way that suits them best and for them to have whatever level of support is needed for them to become confident, resilient, curious, life-long learners.

The chance be able to adapt what I love doing to meet young people whereever they are on their learning journey.
Being able to throw out the rule book to meet the needs of individuals.
Being creative in how I engage young people in Maths & English
For Education: for people to realise that one size doesn’t fit all and learning should take place in a variety of settings
For children: for them to feel safe and happy
in their learning environment in order to thrive

I joined Raw Learning as I have observed in my previous role where children have struggled within the classroom environment, children who have struggled focussing or are quiet indoors will often flourish in the Forest School environment. They are able to enjoy the freedom and space. The learning is very hands on and practical and supports them with their learning. The children are able to grow in confidence and their self esteem builds week after week in Forest School and helps them build a clearer sense of who they are and what they can do.
For every child to be healthy and happy, to have skills and confidence to explore and venture out into the world to be able to play and learn. To achieve and be successful to the best of their abilities.

What excites me most about working at Raw Learning is the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded practitioners who share a belief in a more meaningful and progressive approach to education. As an outdoor practitioner with extensive experience working with neurodivergent children and adults, I have always found that nature provides one of the most powerful environments for engagement, understanding and personal growth.
My practice centres on recognising every learner as an individual and creating space for them to succeed in ways that are personal and authentic to them. I believe strongly in developing a more revolutionary vision of how education can be viewed, experienced and implemented – one that prioritises wellbeing, confidence and self-discovery as the foundation for learning.
The chance to contribute to an environment that values this holistic approach, while also allowing me to help train and support others to facilitate growth in neurodivergent young people, and create ongoing opportunities for them to thrive, is something I find genuinely exciting and meaningful.
My biggest aspiration is for education to rediscover its purpose – recognising the diversity of how young people think and learn, expanding their horizons, and giving them the confidence, skills, and foundation they need to thrive in an ever-changing world and begin a life of discovery, wonder and joy.

I truly look forward to my sessions at Raw Learning. Each day brings a different energy and experience and I love being part of a team of friendly and supportive people who are making a positive difference to children’s lives and their families.
It’s my dream for all children to feel safe, happy and secure, and for them to grow up in an environment where they are understood and accepted for their differences.
I yearn for personalised and holistic educational environments that support the child’s individual needs whilst encouraging curiosity, creativity and a desire to learn.

If Raw Learning feels like it could be the right place for your child, we’d love to gently guide you through what we offer.
