We are located at Doggetts Chase, off Brays Lane in Rochford, SS4 3RN
We of course would like a world where we are 50/50 male and female in our children and our staff, however we do not discriminate and so accept the children who register, and the best teachers who apply!
We aim to remain open for every session we offer. If there are extreme weather conditions, and our Forest School Leader deems it is not safe to be outside, indoor provision will be available. In very rare circumstances, for example if we are unable to cover facilitator absence due to illness, we may need to take the decision to cancel the session.
There is a minimum of one adult to every 8 children. However, each child’s needs are considered and regularly reviewed and accommodated for.
Our provision’s current offer for Forest School sessions is as follows:

Parents may remain with their child on site to support them as they settle in for up to two weeks. If a longer period of support is needed, we ask parents to please complete a Volunteer Enhanced DBS in order to fulfil our Safeguarding Duties and ensure that our other children are kept safe from any potential risks.
Please get in contact for details of pricing.
Our rate for schools will be tailored to the individual needs of the child and will be discussed with the host school on application. This is also dependent on whether a child or young person needs individual support / 1-1.
Currently, Raw Learning is not a registered provision with Ofsted. Therefore, we can’t be named in an EHCP. All EHCP targets should be SMART, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound. In Section F you can list the following: outdoor learning, sensory input, kinaesthetic learning, Forest School, well-being outdoors.
Yes, your child can do a paid trial session with no further obligation. We always encourage feedback after this session.
We currently offer the following activities: Forest School, After School Club, Girls Group, Holiday Club. These are subject to change depending on demand.
Please see our Kit List on the Getting Started Page.
If your child needs changing, they will be changed in the Cosy Cabin. The facilitator will ensure that they have privacy for this.
The Forest School Leader carries out a daily Risk Assessment of the site and any hazards are recorded and actioned, e.g. by taping off the hazard. The main gate onto the site is kept locked at all times with a carabiner to ensure that our learners cannot open the gate by themselves.
Yes, you will be called if your child becomes dysregulated or anxious and cannot be calmed by the Forest School Leader or another facilitator.
We focus on making a connection and getting to know your child really well to find what they are interested in. We plan activities around this interest to help them to settle, and we ask open ended questions about it to help them to engage. We always provide reassurance to your child.
Forest School follows the Wild Passport curriculum. Please contact us for more information about this.
